Here are some common questions we receive from clients.
1) We have a home remodel / extension / addition / restoration project. How do we get started?
Please call us and we'll be happy to discuss your project with you. In some instances we may do a walk-through to better understand your project needs. 2) At what stage should we contact you?
We recommend calling us early in the process. In this way we can best support delivering your vision for the project while simultaneously aligning with your budget.
3) What services do you offer?
We offer full and partial home remodels, new extensions/additions, home restoration projects (e.g. post-fire) and seismic retrofits. We have significant experience and specialize in remodeling Victorian homes.
4) Can you help with a home remodel / restoration after a fire?
Yes - absolutely. We specialize in restoring homes after fire damage, and have significant experience helping homeowners in this area. We understand the complexities involved in fire restoration, from assessing damage, to navigating insurance claims and coordinating with adjusters, inspectors, and building authorities. We are focused on delivering an exceptional service with high quality and timely home restoration.
5) Are you a licensed contractor?
Yes - we're a California Licensed General Contractor and have been for over 25 years. Our California General Contractor License Number is: 765322.
6) How do you work with architects?
We've worked extensively with many architects over time. Depending on our entry point, we can work with your existing or preferred architect. If you need an architect we're happy to speak with you, and recommend architect options based on your project needs.
7) Do you work outside San Francisco?
We have worked in counties all around the bay area including, Marin County, Alameda County, San Mateo county and do consider projects outside San Francisco.
8) What is the typical value of the projects you work on?
Our typical projects range anywhere from $200k to $2.5m. If your project is outside this range - we are happy to chat and consult over the phone and see if we can help in any way.
9) What about permits - can you help with that?
While we don’t specifically handle the permitting part of projects, we’re happy to consult and support clients so that they can find the appropriate resources to help expedite the process.
10) Do you use subcontractors?
Yes - we have a carefully selected network of high-quality subcontractors that we partner with. Some have been with us for up to 20 years building and remodeling homes in and around San Francisco.
11) Can we meet you in person to discuss our home project?
Yes - absolutely - we believe in face-to-face meetings with clients to get to know them, and fully understand what they're looking for. When selected for your project we prepare a project plan and interact with you as appropriate to ensure the project progresses efficiently and that we deliver a professional and high-quality service.
